EU Project Communication & Dissemination Partner

Your communication, dissemination and engagement partner for EU projects

European projects change cities, regions and industries, but only if the right people hear about them, understand them and take them up. TWNTY joins consortia as the partner responsible for exactly that: turning work packages full of results into audiences full of adopters — and, through our consulting and coaching, into capabilities and business models that outlive the grant.

12 flagship EU references

€110M+ combined project value

4 funding frameworks

134+ cities reached

working with EU institutions since 2012

At proposal stage

We join your consortium during the preparatory stage. We shape the communication, dissemination and engagement work package, the impact narrative and the KPIs evaluators look for — and, where consortia want more than communication, the scaling, exploitation and capacity-building tasks that usually sit in WP5- and WP6-type work packages. As a beneficiary partner or a subcontracted specialist, whichever fits your setup. We currently have capacity for new Horizon Europe and Interreg consortia.

During the project

We lead the work package end to end: communication and dissemination strategy, visual identity and website from day one, community building and city or regional alliances, participatory workshops and flagship events, media relations, design, digital platforms and audio-visual production. We keep your project connected to the wider EU ecosystem — the Cities Mission, the Covenant of Mayors, the Smart Cities Marketplace and the initiatives that carry results beyond your consortium. And because our role rarely stops at communication, we also build the knowledge platforms that hold a project's results, run the business-model workshops that open financing pathways for cities, and design the capacity-building programmes — workshops, masterclasses, digital training and learning cohorts — that turn project knowledge into skills partners keep.

Beyond communication

Results only matter if they outlive the project. We consult on the strategy, governance and business models that make solutions investable and repeatable, and we coach city teams, regions and consortia so the work continues without us. The evidence is what is still standing: platforms we helped build are running years after their projects ended — Eltis, the foundations of the Smart Cities Marketplace, the European AI-on-Demand platform — and tools we co-created, like the Business Model Assembler, keep working in cities' hands.

Proof

ASCEND (2023–2027). Leading Communication, Dissemination & Engagement for the €24.6M Horizon Europe Lighthouse project scaling positive clean energy districts from Lyon and Munich to six Multiplier Cities and, through the scaling work, co-developing the Business Model Assembler Tool with the University of St. Gallen and building the ASCEND Knowledge Platform.

Scalable Cities (2020–2025). The online tools, branding and joint communication connecting 134 cities from 28 EU smart city and positive energy district projects, plus the financing edge: co-developing the Cities Climate Impact Investment Fund concept with Blue-Sight and strengthening cities' capacity to fund the transition.

TRANSFORMER (2022–2024). Leading Dissemination, Networking, Training & Exploitation for the Horizon Europe project that piloted Transition Super-Labs in four European regions — publishing the Roadmap, Knowledge Hub and Toolkit that let other regions reuse the approach, and building the training and capacity-building framework behind them.

AI4EU (2019–2021). Communication strategy, launch events and the platform and identity design for the €20.6m Horizon 2020 project behind Europe's first AI-on-demand platform — a system that outlived its project and runs today as the European AI-on-Demand platform (AIoD).

FAQ

What does a communication and dissemination work package leader do? The WP leader designs and runs the project's entire outreach: strategy and framework, audiences and channels, brand and website, community and stakeholder engagement, events, publications and media  and reports against the KPIs in the grant agreement. In Horizon Europe, communication and dissemination are legal obligations; done well, they are how results get replicated.

Is TWNTY only a communication agency? No. Communication is one of three pillars. We consult on strategy, governance and business models for climate-neutral cities: in ASCEND we co-developed the Business Model Assembler Tool with the University of St. Gallen, and in Scalable Cities we spearheaded the Cities Climate Impact Investment Fund concept with Blue-Sight. And we coach - building the capacity of city teams, regions and consortia through training and peer learning, from SPARCS's knowledge-sharing and capacity-building tasks to H2CE's masterclasses, digital training sessions and learning cohorts.

Can TWNTY join our Horizon Europe proposal? Yes. We have capacity for new consortia and contribute at proposal stage: designing the communication, dissemination and engagement work package and, where wanted, the scaling, exploitation and capacity-building tasks, while sharpening the impact section and defining measurable KPIs.

Do you work as a partner or a subcontractor? Both. We are a beneficiary and WP leader in Horizon Europe (ASCEND, TRANSFORMER), we have led WPs as a subcontracted specialist (SPARCS, Smarter Together), and we deliver under European Commission service contracts (Scalable Cities, Eltis, SCIS).

Which programmes and fields do you cover? Horizon Europe, Horizon 2020, Interreg and EC service contracts,  across smart cities and energy, sustainable development, AI and digital, citizen engagement, mobility and circular value chains.

How do you measure impact? Against a KPI framework set per audience level - EU, national and regional, and local - covering reach, engagement, community growth and replication, aligned with EC reporting requirements.
