Eltis — Europe's urban mobility observatory
Growing Europe's urban mobility community

PROGRAMME / FUNDING: European Commission · service contract
TOTAL PROJECT BUDGET: €1.5m
DURATION: 2012–2016 · two consecutive contracts
THEMES: Sustainable mobility; SUMPs; Practitioner communities; Knowledge dissemination
TWNTY ROLE: WP4 Communications and Dissemination Lead (subcontracted) · member of the coordination board of EU mobility projects
The project
Eltis is Europe's urban mobility observatory: the place where mobility professionals exchange information, knowledge and experience on sustainable urban mobility, with resources, tools and guidance on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. It serves experts across transport and neighbouring disciplines: urban and regional development, health, energy and environmental sciences.
The challenge
Mobility knowledge only creates value when practitioners can discover, understand and apply it. The observatory needed sustained community building and communication across a diverse European professional audience, not one-off promotion.
